The knitting pattern, the Midnight cowl, or we can also say the Midnight scarf!
One of my favorite scarf among all those I have knitted until now!
It is soft, supple and warm. The yarns I chose, make a difference for sure.
Like some of my designs, it can be worn in many different ways.

The knitting pattern Midnight cowl, a project you can wear in different ways
Like the Mokaccino Cowl and the Textured Cowl, the Midnight Cowl can be worn in different ways!
Attach or detach the buttons, and you get a cowl, an infinity scarf or a scarf!
You can wrap it around your neck one or two times, and you get another look.
What do you need to know about this pattern?
The finished size is about:
Length: 57 inches (145 cm)
Width: 8 inches (20 cm)
The gauge (in Twin Rib Stitch and non-blocked) is 20 sts for 4 inches (10 cm). Take time to knit a swatch before.
Level of difficulty: Beginner to Intermediate (because of the yo and the p2tog)

Which yarns and tools do you need to knit this cowl/scarf?
I used 2 different yarns held together. One of them gives that fuzzy look like a cloud. :)
Peruvian Baby Cashmere
- 545 yards (500 m). This yarn has 60% Baby Alpaca, 30% Merino Wool, and 30% Cashmere in it.
- Fingering / 4 ply (14 wpi)
- Texture: Plied
And Super Kydd Elann (discontinued)
- 518 yards (475 m). This yarn has 70% Mohair and 30% Nylon in it.
- Lace / 2 ply
- Texture: Fuzzy
You can replace it by one from Knit Picks: the Silken Kydd made from 70% Super Kid Mohair and 30% Silk.
You also need:
- 2 needles size US 7 (4,5 mm) or circular needles (same size) if you prefer them
- scissors
- 1 tapestry needle to weave in ends
- 5 buttons (18 mm)
Finally, which stitches do you need to know to knit it?
- knit (k)
- purl (p)
- yarn over (yo)
- purl 2 stitches together (p2tog)

Tout comme le Mokaccino Cowl et le Textured Cowl, le Midnight Cowl peut se porter de différentes façons !
Attachez ou détachez les boutons et vous obtenez un col (snood), un foulard infini ou encore tout simplement un foulard !
Vous pouvez l’enrouler autour de votre une ou deux fois et vous obtenez un autre look.
Que devez-vous savoir à propos du Midnight Cowl ?
Ce foulard mesure approximativement :
Longueur : 145 cm (57 pouces)
Largeur : 20 cm (8 pouces)
L’échantillon (avec le point Twin Rib Stitch et non bloqué) est : 20 m. = 10 cm (4 pouces). Prenez le temps de tricoter un échantillon.
Degré de difficulté : Débutant à intermédiaire (à cause du jeté et du tric. à l’env. 2 m. ens)

Qu’avez-vous besoin pour tricoter ce projet ?
J’ai utilisé 2 différents fils tenus ensemble. Un de ces fils donne cet aspect “fuzzy”, un peu comme un nuage. :)
